Evil Brain Taste plays in the corroded vein of old school death metal and their gore soaked twist to their brand of death metal is the fact that they sing about everything zombies. Their debut release is titled Dead Dead Bad and provides thirteen songs that are packed with guts, putrescent blood, and a visceral discharge of brains and ooze. The music itself is entirely fun to listen to and on the other side of the same token it is completely headbanging and nasty to the core.
Taking a look at the band at face value and reading the name Evil Brain Taste and seeing the title of their debut album be Dead Dead Bad you don’t come to expect much at all. If you were like me when first reading the band name and the title of the album you probably had the same first impression as I, but that impression was wrong.
As comical and whimsical as this music is it is also entirely deadly. No matter which way you slice the fermenting brain, Evil Brain Taste is a sonic death metal attack that doesn’t stop coming until everyone is dead.
Zombies isn’t exactly something that is new to death metal but, Evil Brain Taste takes it to a completely different platform. Everything about Dead Dead Bad reeks of rotten flesh, green ooze, festering pustules and molding skin.
Dead Dead Bad is a neck snapping good time, and once your neck has been snapped, Evil Brain Taste reanimate your corpse to have you join their undead army of zombie heathens.
Evil Brain Taste is something of an unknown death metal threat, but they are exactly that. Evil Brain Taste has immense death metal chops and everything is on display with this debut. They display chainsaw like and flesh ripping riffs, blasphemic blasts, a thick bass back bone and visceral and throat shredding vocals. The vocalist who appropriately calls himself Bone, transitions between a gravely zombie growl to an ear piercing black metal screech.
Not only is Evil Brain Taste destructive zombie death metal, they also throw in elements of thrash as well as black metal to create a unique wall of destruction. The album is thrashy and unbridled and Evil Brain Taste aims straight for your fucking jugular. If you are in need of some straight up limb ripping and bone gnawing death metal, then Evil Brain Taste is the band for you. Through thirteen songs you never stop headbanging and the only thing you want more of after a listen is BRAINS!
