Scab: Human Garbage

April 2, 2016

When you think of grind, you think of an all out disgusting attack of raw brutality, and with Scab that is exactly what you get. Even with their tongue-in-cheek song titles such as Stabbed With A Squirrel, Skin Tag, You’re It and Lice Crispies, this band provides you with plenty of raw gut ripping grind. Human Garbage is their newest effort and within this release you get thirty-six songs of pure grind. There isn’t a dull moment in this release as the songs come at you quick and keep you headbanging until your head falls clean off.

In typical grind fashion every song is short with the longest coming in just under two minutes. Human Garbage hits hard and barrels through you as though you were never there. This is a turbo charged release that aims to shred you into pieces. Once Human Garbage begins there is no stopping it at all. You don’t get any reprieve and there aren’t any moments where you can relax and catch your breath.

Human Garbage is an unrelenting barrage of grinding madness and Scab doesn’t mix much else with their ferocious brand of grind to compromise the purity of their sound. What you get is grind in all of its filthy glory and all throughout Human Garbage, Scab doesn’t skimp on the filth. After one full listen you feel as though you need to cleanse yourself of all of the viscera and rotting gore that you get buried under.

Scab embodies grind and sticks to the genre’s true nature of hack and slash and ask questions later. Human Garbage is gut ripping grind at its finest and doesn’t stop until you’re bleeding in a ditch. Scab has a complete disregard for your safety and you will be lucky if you escape this release with most of your brains still in your skull.

These monsters of grind pierce you with shredding riffs, acrobatic and tumultuous drum work, thick bass lines and vocals that will rip your throat out themselves. As chaotic as this release is, each song is memorable and sticks with you and makes you want to press play more than once. Human Garbage is a savage display of what grind can do to a person.

Scab doesn’t take any shortcuts with this release either. They don’t trim the fat and there aren’t any fillers as this record is purely blistering and leaves you headless after all of the headbanging that occurs. Human Garbage is exactly what grind is meant to be. It is raw, relentless and it oozes grime. This release is for fans of chaos, and pure filth and if that fits the bill for you, then this release was meant to shred your ear drums.
