Barreling straight through your chest is Arkaik Excruciation and their new release Cursed Blood of Doom. This is just as gritty as albums come, just as raw, and just as putrid. When listening it feels as though a horde of blood lusting zombies are headed straight for you. Cursed Blood of Doom is an onslaught of metal of the heaviest variety. Like a buzz saw, each song cuts through you and you get added to the stack of corpses that Arkaik Excruciation have amassed.
Cursed Blood of Doom is the debut full length release from these behemoths, but it sounds as though they have been around for years culling the weak and feasting on the corruption of innocence. Arkaik Excruciation is terrifying and they make their presence well known with this release. Cursed Blood of Doom is a statement and it immediately leaves an imprint on you and one listen just isn’t enough as you struggle to get your fix of disgusting death metal.
When listening a certain vile stench creeps up through your nostrils. This album is filthy and disgusting and revels in massive amounts of entrails and gore. There isn’t much that you can do to escape the pure hate fueled death metal onslaught as Arkaik Excruciation chases you down and guts you like a rotted fish. Each song is barbaric and raw. Nothing in this record is overly technical as the music is kept simple and incredibly brutalizing.
As soon as you press play, images of death, torture and ruination run through your head. Cursed Blood of Doom is nightmare inducing and there is nothing that you can do to wriggle your way out of your own mental funeral. The entire album isn’t a random collection of sickening hymns, but instead it is a cohesive piece that slaughters your very being. Arkaik Excruciation has an old school feeling about them; a raw feeling as though they just got reanimated and are on the prowl for putrid blood.
Arkaik Excruciation are unrelenting in their assault and they brutalize you with a heavy barrage of memorable riffs and shrieking solos, organ rupturing drumming, lacerating bass lines, and vocals that are evil and unearthly. This band is detrimental to your health and they revel in your horror and suffering. Paired with the gut ripping music are interludes (generally at the end of certain songs) that instill a sense of fear inside of you and make you feel as though you are either trapped in a chamber or being hunted.
Debut albums are meant to be statement pieces, and you can’t make too much of a better statement than this debut. This is an album that sticks in your mind. It is a bleeding and pulsing death metal release that forces itself down your listening holes whether you want it or not.
Cursed Blood of Doom will be out April 4, 2016 through Duplicate Records!
