After six years of laying dormant, Bloodrain is back with their newest effort titled Bloodrain V: Adora Satanae. Much like their other releases, Bloodrain strikes a chord and leaves some nerves shredded with their chaotic brand of thrashing black metal. This new record is fueled by Satan and enough hell fire to scorch the entire earth. There are only a few moments within this release that aren’t played at mach five so be sure to catch your breath while you can, because Bloodrain V: Adora Satanae is a suffocating piece of work that disregards human life all together.
Forming in Russia in 1995 Bloodrain have been on a path of destruction and devastation ever since and with the release of Bloodrain V: Adora Satanae nothing has changed at all. This entire nine track record is bombastic and detrimental to your health from the very beginning and doesn’t stop until the entire earth has been scorched and everyone has been laid to waste. Each song is shredding and chaotic and pack more than enough punch to break your neck and if the punch doesn’t do it the sheer amount of headbanging that ensues after pressing play certainly will.
As soon as you press play you become trapped in a hurricane of blackened thrashing fury that you won’t escape alive from. Bloodrain provides you with music that melts your face, snaps your neck and drains you of your blood from beginning to end. Even after a six year break it doesn’t seem as though these Satanic black metal warlords have slowed down any, and it doesn’t seem as though “slow” is in their vocabulary. Bloodrain V: Adora Satanae is played at skin melting speeds and forces you back in your seat until the album concludes and with this album being as punishingly intoxicating as it is you end up pressing play again to go through the torture once more.
Bloodrain V: Adora Satanae is a thrashing, brain bruising release, and even though it is it still is soaked in evil and cursed in eternal hell fire. While you are headbanging your brain cells away you can feel Satan himself rising from the Underworld to headbang along with you. This release is devilish and makes you want to create as much debauchery and mayhem as you possibly can. While listening you can’t escape the alluring evil and the more and more you listen you can feel your soul turning black and reduced to ashes.
Throughout this hellish record you get subjected to writhing riffs, flesh flaying solos, cracking bass lines, solid drumming and demonic vocals that are spewed forth out of your speakers. This music is entirely straight forward and doesn’t try to sugarcoat anything. What you see and hear is what you get and that is it. This is evil, diabolical, sinister and completely twisted, just the way that it should be.
After six years of being dormant, Bloodrain is back and they make that very well known with this solid release. They storm out of the gates at the drop of the first note and stomp each tune into your head until that is all that you can remember. So press play at your own discretion and have fun headbanging with the devil!
