Blackened death metal heathens Division Vansinne are back with a new record titled Dimension Darkness and with this new record you can expect blackened death in its purest and most raw form. This is the type of record that you don’t want to mess with as it supplies a ton of power and visceral hatred to the point where as soon as you press play your skin begins to melt and you flesh begins to fall off your bones. Dimension Darkness is a savage display of the dark arts and is only here to flay your flesh and swallow your soul whole.

A three minute introduction begins this record and it sets an ominous, haunting and sinister tone for the rest of the record. Those themes and many more hold up for the entirety of the album, and after the intro is over scalding blackened death metal rains down upon you with an unrelenting ferocity. Division Vansinne plays at a break neck pace and they don’t stop that pace until the entire album is over and until your neck is completely twisted around and you are looking toward the back of you permanently.

Each song on this record hits much like a sledgehammer and does so repeatedly. All eleven songs takes their best shot at you and leave you laying in a puddle of blood when all is said and done. Not everything is a complete ferocious beating however as you get intros to certain songs that give you a minute or so to catch your breath before the onslaught and slaughter continues. Dimension Darkness as a whole is a cutting and devastating album that does its best to sink you into the netherworld to never be seen again.

Pure darkness and utter evil seem to have been injected into the folds of this record as it is positively demonic and sordid. Throughout the listen you are submerged in pitch black and bleak nothingness and while you succumb to the darkness it feels as though demons are wading through the ever darkening fog to steal what innocence you have left. Each song displays a great savagery and a complete disregard for your life and as each song passes another volatile one takes its place to continue the sonic torture.

Division Darkness is riddled with hell fire laced riffs, downhill drumming and purely demonic vocals that haunt you long after the album has concluded. The old-school style in which Division Vansinne plays gives this record more of a raw feeling than it already did. This is uncompromising and unrelenting blackened death metal in its purest form, and this release supplies you with enough beatings to last you a month.

Dimension Darkness is a solid record that gives you just about everything. In fifty plus minutes this release provides you with barbaric music that you can headbang to and maybe even summon a demon or two. There’s no way that you can’t headbang to this with intensity and if you are a fan of black metal, death metal or if you are just a fan of filthy and raw metal, then this is the release for you.
