Oozing up from their rotting tombs comes Reputdeath with their upcoming demo titled Slurking, Reeking, Leeching. Reputdeath plays a style of death metal that is concretely rooted in the rotting vein of old-school death metal. Keeping their sound raw and utterly putrid, Reputdeath buries you underneath four cadaverous tracks within this demo. From beginning to end you are presented with flesh tearing savagery that never is to cease until you are left cold and lifeless at the bottom of a shallow grave.
Never to stop their putrid discharge, Reputdeath stomps from track to brutalizing track never to look back at the carnage and mutilated corpses left behind. You will find no filler or fluff here as what you get is four straight offerings of blood leeching death metal. Twisted and sordid, each offering presents you with a truly foul and bleeding raw sound that is reminiscent of death metal of old. With elements of doom thrown in to the mix with the ever buzzing death metal sound, Reputdeath offers up a varied sound. One moment you will be picked apart by ever eviscerating death and the next you will be dragged through the cold fields of death by the doom elements only to be lead to your final resting place.
Within each lacerating cut you come face to face with buzzsaw riffs that are backed only by chest cracking drumming and blood curdling vocals. Each track is a bulldozer of death that aims straight for your throat. Ever unwavering in their caustic assault, Reputdeath marches forth from track to track to present you with one offering of sickening death after the next. You are to find nothing here but hymns of disease ridden death that aim to claim your life for themselves. Wicked, flesh gnashing and marrow draining, Slurking, Reeking, Leeching is a pure, straight forward death machine that offers up four great tracks.
Through and through, Slurking, Reeking, Leeching is a very solid demo as it features four very good tracks. The musicianship is great, the vocals are bloodied, the atmosphere foreboding and the production is appropriately raw. Overall, this is a very good demo that has risen from the depths of molded tombs to provide us with nothing but very solid death metal for our sickening enjoyment.
