Swarn: Black Flame Order

Where crust, d-beat, death metal, elements of doom and black metal meet, you will find the entity known as Swarn. With their newest offering titled Black Flame Order, you are to find ten tracks of sinister, flesh ripping metal. In a pure blood boiling onslaught, Swarn sew each aforementioned genre together to create a cohesive amalgamation of destructive noise. Never does Swarn relent in their ferocious assault as they march from track to track leaving earth scorched and destruction in their wake. Dark, sinister and ever twisting, each of the ten offerings harbored within this title drag you in to their devilish and ever darkening soundscapes never for you to be released. From beginning to end, Black Flame Order offers up one track after the next of blasphemous and venomous death.

With a wicked undulating atmosphere that pairs oh so well with the never ceasing slaughtering rampage, Swarn unleash a hellish and fury laden sound right from the get go. Never to let you prepare for what you are going to witness, Swarn sets in immediately with sharpened riffs brandished, bone cracking drumming and dissonant hellish vocals that crop up from beyond the abyssal tone. Never to fill their record with intros, fillers, or anything of the sort, what you get from Swarn with this release is ten straight offerings that are entirely engaging, well written and executed. From the first second to the last you are treated to devilish, soul perishing metal that cannot be denied.

Even with the numerous genres at work through each track, not a single offering sounds cluttered or disjointed. Swarn does a great job through and through incorporating each influence in to the fold to provide you with an overall unique sound. Never once are you to hear the same thing come from your speakers twice as Swarn consistently switches tempos and tones. Utilizing each element to its fullest extent, Swarn switches gears from an unhinged death metal assault to a murky trudging doom sound all the way to a soul stealing blackened sound and back again with ease. Swarn consistently blurs the lines between each genre through each track ultimately creating a seamless and cohesive sound in the process.

Overall, Black Flame Order is a very solid release from these heathens. Each track is well written and executed to provide you with a truly wicked and heavy listen. It is always great to see bands step outside of the box to present something fresh, entertaining and engaging and that is what Swarn does here with Black Flame Order.

Black Flame Order will be unleashed August 2 through Raw Skull Recordz.
