Abominism: Abominism

Cropping up from an ever expanding abyss comes Abominism and in tow with them, their new self titled release set to be unleashed. Featuring six total tracks, Abominism unleash a darkened, technical, atmospheric, melodious and down right neck snapping sound that is incredibly undeniable. Never to relent, Abominism pushes the pace and pushes the envelope to territories not yet explored. Gripping you from the very beginning, Abominism has you within the throes of death suffocating you underneath the sheer weight of their caustic death metal assault. Mixing elements of black metal and doom in to the fold, Abominism treats you to a blistering, blasphemous and life stealing offering that leaves you nothing more than a husk.

Never are you to get a chance to brace yourself for the pure destructive onslaught that Abominism ladles upon you as they set in guiding you head first in to a chasm of pure soulless darkness. From the very beginning through to the end of this self titled offering you come face to face with one monstrous track right after the next. Ever flesh ripping and devouring, each of the six cuts that are present here are as malignant and skull grinding as you can imagine. This self titled release is an all enveloping one as it drags you asunder to depths not yet reached, never to spit you back out once all is said and done.

Among the savagery is an undulating horrifying atmosphere that provides you with a foreboding and incredibly menacing tone. Among marrow draining riffs, brain altering drumming, incredible unearthly vocals, the atmosphere that lurks below the wall of sonic doom is just as potent and venomous. Abominism does a great job of mixing in atmospheric elements to their overall pure, destructive aural assault providing you with a great depth in sound and scope.

Abominism bares their fangs from the drop of the first note, never to back down, never to relent in their torrid earth scorching onslaught. From beginning to end you are provided with one track after the next of life expunging death metal that is incredibly hard to turn away from. Each of the six tracks here are down right devastating and malevolent making the entire release to be one that cannot be ignored. This self titled release is ferocious, venomous, and unapologetic in its rampage as it bulldozes from track to track with nothing but a wake of destruction left in its path.

In great technical ability, musicianship, production, song writing and more, Abominism has created something here that is monolithic. Their overall sound is intense, menacing and spine severing. Each track looms large, striking immediately leaving you a bloodied mess once all is said and done. This is a gem among gems as it is one hell of a fucking release, one that should not be overlooked or slept on.

Firmly rooted in the rotted vein of death metal of the 90’s, Deceitome bring their own version of the rotted sound to the forefront. Bleeding raw and marrow sapping, Flux of Ruin stomps from track to track ladling sickening doses of death metal through your speakers. From the very beginning you become trapped in this torrid maelstrom of death and viscera never able to leave until you finally have been put to rest.

Forever unapologetic, Deceitome tear through your flesh and bore through your skull to offer up five vile and wicked tracks one after the next. Without slowing their march toward madness, Deceitome roll from one cut to the next burying you under viscera stained death metal only for you to become worm food. As ripping riffs cascade through your speakers, so do pummeling drums and vocals that crop up from a never ending abyss. Through and through, each offering is a damning and skin peeling one that is never to relent until your life has been severed.

With an undulating miasmal horror attached to each track, you are presented with straight forward gruesome death metal. Deceitome flow from each track with ease as each one bleeds in to the next never giving you a moment to inhale fresh air as you become submerged underneath stagnant death. Each terrifying offering exemplifies rotting death in its purest form. Flux of Ruin is undeniable blood letting death metal that bulldozes its victims straight in to the earth from the very get go.

This five piece from Estonia seamlessly mixes barbaric death metal with some miasmal atmospheric undertones to create an overall grim and flesh stealing effort. Flux of Ruin is a very good EP that treats you to five straight tracks of nothing but pure savage death metal and nothing but. Well executed, written and constructed, Flux of Ruin is a great release front to back.

Swarn: Black Flame Order

Where crust, d-beat, death metal, elements of doom and black metal meet, you will find the entity known as Swarn. With their newest offering titled Black Flame Order, you are to find ten tracks of sinister, flesh ripping metal. In a pure blood boiling onslaught, Swarn sew each aforementioned genre together to create a cohesive amalgamation of destructive noise. Never does Swarn relent in their ferocious assault as they march from track to track leaving earth scorched and destruction in their wake. Dark, sinister and ever twisting, each of the ten offerings harbored within this title drag you in to their devilish and ever darkening soundscapes never for you to be released. From beginning to end, Black Flame Order offers up one track after the next of blasphemous and venomous death.

With a wicked undulating atmosphere that pairs oh so well with the never ceasing slaughtering rampage, Swarn unleash a hellish and fury laden sound right from the get go. Never to let you prepare for what you are going to witness, Swarn sets in immediately with sharpened riffs brandished, bone cracking drumming and dissonant hellish vocals that crop up from beyond the abyssal tone. Never to fill their record with intros, fillers, or anything of the sort, what you get from Swarn with this release is ten straight offerings that are entirely engaging, well written and executed. From the first second to the last you are treated to devilish, soul perishing metal that cannot be denied.

Even with the numerous genres at work through each track, not a single offering sounds cluttered or disjointed. Swarn does a great job through and through incorporating each influence in to the fold to provide you with an overall unique sound. Never once are you to hear the same thing come from your speakers twice as Swarn consistently switches tempos and tones. Utilizing each element to its fullest extent, Swarn switches gears from an unhinged death metal assault to a murky trudging doom sound all the way to a soul stealing blackened sound and back again with ease. Swarn consistently blurs the lines between each genre through each track ultimately creating a seamless and cohesive sound in the process.

Overall, Black Flame Order is a very solid release from these heathens. Each track is well written and executed to provide you with a truly wicked and heavy listen. It is always great to see bands step outside of the box to present something fresh, entertaining and engaging and that is what Swarn does here with Black Flame Order.

With tracks such as: Pregnant And Cut To Pieces, Vacant Slaughter Job, Sadistic Force Feeding and more, you can come to expect nothing but grisly and gruesome death and that is exactly what you get. In an ever unrelenting, life claiming fashion, Tales of Blood march from track to track ripping flesh clean from bone and draining veins of their crimson essence. Unapologetic and down right barbaric, Stuffing The Graveyard eviscerates and lacerates through and through leaving you as food for the worms to claim.

Never to ease you in to their sickening brand of savagery, Tales of Blood sets in immediately with a skull cracking track titled Dissect And Murder. Setting the grisly tone for the remainder of the release, Dissect And Murder hits you with a raw sound that comes to life with cutting riffs, ever bone cracking drumming and bloodied vocals that roar up from the caverns of the mutilated. The savagery doesn’t stop at the first track of course as Tales of Blood rampages forth with murderous intent. Rolling from offering to viscera stained offering, Tales of Blood continues their killing spree leaving nothing but mutilation and evisceration in their wake.

Ever slaughtering and flesh gnawing, each track is a vile creation that aims to take your life. Through and through, Stuffing The Graveyard is a great release as it offers up nothing but eleven pure, unfiltered and gutting tracks of malignant death. From the mangling musicianship, the throat cutting vocals and the overall raw production, you are treated to a true horrifying, entirely sinister and vile piece of death metal. Ever unapologetic, ruthless and relentless, Stuffing The Graveyard is a very solid, mutilating release that is sure to please the sickening minds of death metal fans all over.

Reputdeath: Slurking, Reeking, Leeching

Oozing up from their rotting tombs comes Reputdeath with their upcoming demo titled Slurking, Reeking, Leeching. Reputdeath plays a style of death metal that is concretely rooted in the rotting vein of old-school death metal. Keeping their sound raw and utterly putrid, Reputdeath buries you underneath four cadaverous tracks within this demo. From beginning to end you are presented with flesh tearing savagery that never is to cease until you are left cold and lifeless at the bottom of a shallow grave.

Never to stop their putrid discharge, Reputdeath stomps from track to brutalizing track never to look back at the carnage and mutilated corpses left behind. You will find no filler or fluff here as what you get is four straight offerings of blood leeching death metal. Twisted and sordid, each offering presents you with a truly foul and bleeding raw sound that is reminiscent of death metal of old. With elements of doom thrown in to the mix with the ever buzzing death metal sound, Reputdeath offers up a varied sound. One moment you will be picked apart by ever eviscerating death and the next you will be dragged through the cold fields of death by the doom elements only to be lead to your final resting place.

Within each lacerating cut you come face to face with buzzsaw riffs that are backed only by chest cracking drumming and blood curdling vocals. Each track is a bulldozer of death that aims straight for your throat. Ever unwavering in their caustic assault, Reputdeath marches forth from track to track to present you with one offering of sickening death after the next. You are to find nothing here but hymns of disease ridden death that aim to claim your life for themselves. Wicked, flesh gnashing and marrow draining, Slurking, Reeking, Leeching is a pure, straight forward death machine that offers up four great tracks.

Through and through, Slurking, Reeking, Leeching is a very solid demo as it features four very good tracks. The musicianship is great, the vocals are bloodied, the atmosphere foreboding and the production is appropriately raw. Overall, this is a very good demo that has risen from the depths of molded tombs to provide us with nothing but very solid death metal for our sickening enjoyment.

Each track harbored within the title Human Cattle hits you like a ton of bricks. These spinal fluid draining offerings are as heavy as you would want them to be and they definitely are and then some. Unapologetic in their blistering blood boiling assault, each track attacks from all sides. Never are you gifted a moment of solace as Human Cattle bears down upon you suffocating you under its sheer undeniable weight. Each cut is a brain bruising and bone cracking affair that leaves you feeling bruised and blooded once all has concluded.

Human Cattle is a pure, straight forward death metal blitzkrieg. Once you press play you become ensnared in the deadly storm that Disowning conjures with this new release never to be let go until the final gnarled note rings through. Human Cattle is a great release; one that displays great technicality, inhuman vocals and just overall great song writing ability. You cannot go wrong here with Human Cattle.

VHS: We’re Gonna Need Some Bigger Riffs

In a gruesome amalgamation of death metal, punk and thrash, VHS continue to terrorize graveyards and this time it is with their third full length titled We’re Gonna Need Some Bigger Riffs. This zombifying, vein draining offering features fourteen total tracks of flesh tearing savagery. From one track to the next you are greeted by nothing but brain masticating metal. Through this release, VHS marches through each offering at a torrid pace, aiming to claim your life only to reanimate you to make you a part of their ever growing horde of animated corpses.

To start their new wicked offering off, VHS greets you with Full Scream Ahead. Full Scream Ahead is an ambient intro that sounds like an opening credit sequence track of an 80’s horror movie. As the foreboding intro plays you become further and further immersed in the atmosphere, until it fades into obscurity only for you to become pelted by the remaining thirteen flesh devouring offerings. Once the intro does subside, you are subjected to one track after the next of terrorizing metal. Through this release, VHS does a great job of incorporating the numerous genres in which they employ to create a unique sound.

Within certain tracks you can hear influences from all of the genres they utilize and in other offerings you will catch a pure death metal influence, thrash, punk or even hair metal influence. Through We’re Gonna Need Some Bigger Riffs, VHS does a great job of mixing up their sound through each of thirteen tracks to provide you with an incredibly diverse and varied sound. Never are you to hear the same thing twice as VHS continuously shifts and shapes their sound to however they see fit. No matter what sound it is that you come across through whichever track, each one is just as heavy and face eating as the next.

Not only is each track within We’re Gonna Need Some Bigger Riffs spinal fluid draining heavy, but they are just as catchy and memorable. You will not leave your listen without each track becoming embedded in your brain like a parasite. Sooner rather than later you will have each cut rolling around in your head for quite some time. VHS has always struck a great balance between being as heavy as they can be with constantly providing entertaining and highly memorable tracks, and that certainly remains true with We’re Gonna Need Some Bigger Riffs.

VHS has done it once again with We’re Gonna Need Some Bigger Riffs as they offer up yet another heavy yet entirely memorable record. VHS continues to impress and continues to offer up a brand of metal that is entirely unique and incredibly entertaining.

Gravefields: Embrace The Void

Heaving up from the depths of molded tombs comes death metal horde Gravefields and in tow with them their full length release Embrace The Void. With nine tracks to its title, it offers up straight forward brain devouring death metal. There is no reprieve as Gravefields unleashes a ceaseless assault from beginning to end. All consuming and flesh peeling, each of the nine offerings within this title are savage and blood letting never relenting, never to stop the destruction until finally the last note flies through your speakers. With an ominous and haunting atmosphere mixed in with the blood boiling death metal assault, Embrace The Void is a damning and devouring offering.

Burying you under droves of slashing riffs and pummeling six feet in to the earth with ever bone shattering drumming, Gravefields comes at you like a scalding flesh peeling maelstrom. With unearthly roars and gritty screams woven in to the aural assault, each track is a devastating offer of rancid death. Barreling forth from track to track, Gravefields never lets up with their all consuming and enveloping brand of bloodied death. Embrace The Void sinks its hooks in to you early on never to let you leave as it brings you on a ravaged and tumultuous path of death.

With each track easily topping over the three, four and five minute marks, it gives Gravefields plenty of time to continue their torrid onslaught. There is no room to breathe within this release as one track ends another equally suffocating and monstrous track begins. Each track is a monstrous wall of bleeding death metal mayhem that leaves you bloodied and flattened by the end of it all. Without second thought to human life and the earth upturned behind them all, each track aims straight for your throat aiming to have you buried in the damp dirt.

Walls of slaughtering riffs, bone cracking drumming, unearthly vocals and an overall foreboding and haunting atmosphere makes for a truly devastating release. With great musicianship, technicality, a great production and everything else in between, Embrace The Void is an excellent record. Not much is left to be said but to step in to the void yourself and discover this great death metal gem by none other than Gravefields.

Demiurgon: The Oblivious Lure

In complete and utter death metal devastation, Demiurgon put on a truly rampaging and gutting display with their sophomore full length The Oblivious Lure. Through eight tracks you are greeted by a true maelstrom of death from beginning to end. Demiurgon wastes no time at all getting you acquainted with their harsh brand of punishing death metal as they set in immediately with the opening track. Once you press play what you get is a no holds barred sonic assault from beginning to end. With no reprieve and not a single moment to catch your breath, Demiurgon suffocate you under droves of spine snapping death metal.

With a mixture of technical, brutal groove filled riffing, chest cracking drumming and ripping vocals, Demiurgon attack from all sides. Never do they relent, never does the assault slow to anything less than a brain bashing affair as each offering is a skin splitting, skull sanding one. Never to sacrifice technicality for sheer death metal brutality, Demiurgon strike a great balance to provide you with a cohesive and well rounded sound. Ever explosive and caustic, The Oblivious Lure steamrolls from track to track, burying you under droves of metallic fury and destruction.

From the get go, The Oblivious Lure is a gripping and engaging effort as it has you bashing your brain against your skull in no time. From the drop of the first note to the calling of the final, you are trapped in a maelstrom of scalding death metal. There is no filler or fluff here as what you get is eight straight tracks of destructive death metal at is utmost finest. Demiurgon put on a great display of true technical death metal with this release as they offer up one flesh flaying offering after another never to cease until the album has concluded.

Overall, The Oblivious Lure is a great record, one that provides you with non stop death metal mayhem from beginning to end. Through and through, The Oblivious Lure doesn’t cease to impress as each of the tracks attached to its title are excellent. With great technicality, great song writing, musicianship and more, Demiurgon have created a record here that is undeniable and down right consuming. Not much more can be said other than this effort is simply outstanding.

The Oblivious Lure will be released through Everlasting Spew Records July 12.

Devoid of Thought: Cosmic Apoptosis

With a propensity toward the progressive and experimental, Devoid of Thought travels in to new regions with their brand of vile death metal. Doom laden and crushing, Devoid of Thought bring forth three new offerings within their newest demo Cosmic Apoptosis. Bowel churning and blisteringly darkened, Devoid of Thought rip through each track stomping through over turned graves. With their mixture of slow burning doom and flesh consuming death metal, these heathens offer up a sound that is bleeding raw and all consuming. Once you press play, ever creeping darkness envelopes you never for you to see light again until the final gnarled note flies through the abyss.

Devoid of Thought begin Cosmic Apoptosis with the track Necronaut. Necronaut begins with a slow burning doom aesthetic that drags you through a darkened mire of blasphemy before cranking up the pace to provide you with a disemboweling rampage of death. Devoid of Thought doesn’t ease you in to their brand of sickening death as they immediately welcome you in to their darkened world of flesh and violence. With flesh tearing riffs and skull blasting drumming, Devoid of Thought rip through Necronaut providing you with a damning and light stealing opener.

The two remaining tracks provide you with some of the same torturous doom laden death metal sounds as the opener does. Ever churning and life consuming, Devoid of Thought offers up an unrelenting sound that sinks its fangs deep in to your flesh, tearing and stealing it away with the passing of each second. As ripping and gut churning as each offering is, they are equally haunting as you are provided with an undulating atmosphere of dread and death. The more that you listen the further you sink in to a sinister abyss from which you are unable to crawl out of.

Cosmic Apoptosis heaps droves of neck bending heaviness upon you from the very get go never to cease its assault as you quickly become buried six feet. Each of the three tracks here are anvil heavy as they come out aiming to expunge you from this earth. This raw and ceaseless assault is something to behold as not only are you brutalized by bloodied death but dragged through a swampy darkness with cold crushing doom. Overall, Cosmic Apoptosis is a great release, one that offers up something unique and heavy for your morbid listening pleasure.
