Kaamos Warriors: Ikuisen Talven Sarastus

Emerging from the bone splintering permafrost and the ever creeping shadows over the north come dark metal fiends Kaamos Warriors with their debut full length titled Ikuisen Talven Sarastus. Coming complete with eight blistering tracks, Ikuisen Talven Sarastus is as vicious as it is melancholic and grim. Injecting the melancholic nature of eternal winter in to their otherwise potent and ever striking offense, Kaamos Warriors bring forth a truly captivating and ferocious sound that is not to be ignored.

Through this eight track offering you are greeted by machine gun drumming, ever sinister and wicked riffs that are fronted by rabid vocals that are as unearthly as you would want them. You never are granted much of a reprieve from the bitter darkness and flesh freezing atmosphere as Kaamos Warriors march on from track to track with great swiftness. In between tracks, one cold breathe is allowed before these fiends usher you forth in to yet another frost filled and damning cut.

Kaamos Warriors don’t wait for anyone before they cut straight to the bone with their opening track Kaamos Warriors. Before the true onslaught this track eases you in a little bit before hitting you square in the chest with rapid fire drumming, foreboding riffs and ever blood curdling vocals. The savagery surely does not stop after the opening track has ended as Kaamos Warriors usher forth seven equally blasphemous and wicked offerings. One right after another you come face to face with melancholic, yet wicked and punishing tracks all the same.

The balance that this two man band strikes between the punishing and the ever oppressive, frost filled ambiance is great. You get both aspects within each of the eight tracks here providing you with great diversity and variety within each short cut. Each of the eight tracks are pretty short, but within their short run time they pack more than a great punch and enough frigid atmosphere to encapsulate you in permafrost where you stand.

Ikuisen Talven Sarastus is a great record and a very solid and standout debut for Kaamos Warriors as each track present is just as wicked, gripping and solid as the last. This is a well rounded effort, one that puts forth plenty of diversity through each offering making each listen exciting as this record has you coming back for more blasphemous dark metal.

Ikuisen Talven Sarastus will be released February 15, 2019 through Inverse Records.
